A rework of Ursula
Once the heiress to the largest underwater empire, Ursula was exiled after being caught experimenting in black magics. Furious, she attempted a spell that would transform her into a sea creature that would give her the power to destroy her father's kingdom. Her spell went wrong, however, and only part of her body changed, permanently. She can cast a spell on creatures to gain control of them, resulting in a tattoo on her body. However, too many tattoos at once or any tattoo for a prolonged period of time distorts her skin, and it begins to rot from the inside. She spends her time in exile in humiliation, skulking the ocean floor, and awaits the day for true redemption.
What I like the most of this work is the flowing flounce of Ursula's hair. The joining of light and dark makes for a very interesting theme here. The tattoos on her face really do follow what you say as far as skin corrupted and contaminated by dark magic. I also quite like the smooth aqua-alabaster skin which feels human while it is not-quite-so.
While the piece is beautiful, the tentacle part stylistically feels too different from Ursula. Her human half is very crisp and distinct while the tentacles seem a bit blurred despite the point of view. Even if that is the case, the contrast of styles do frame Ursula's profile beautifully.
This is my very first critique, so I hope what I write is fair and creative:
You would've made Disney proud with with this!
First off, I'd like to say that this is one of the best Ursula pics I have ever seen in my life. The colors and shading technique fit the mood perfectly.... nice and dark. Secondly, is the story in the description like a deleted scene from The Little Mermaid? Since the father (whom I'm guessing is King Triton), bansihed her from home? Because, that would be awesome if that was part of that movie!
You've completed my childhood with one of the characters from my childhood favorite movie: The Little Mermaid
Splendidly executed indeed. I like minimal element used to compose at the bottom of visual, representing she is an octopus. Transparent view with a baby like inside, on the side of her chest looks like a sexy tattoo for me. Detailing and execution of her hair and wave of water blow me away...completely. Finally, she looks like Angelina Jolie for me. No offence. Hehe...
I like it.=3 It looks really good to me. Then again, I'm not a seasoned drawing artist. So if there are any flaws, I wouldn't be able to see them when it looks as good as this.

Keep up the great work!
